Jiwan Bogor: A Cozy Hideaway Near Taman Sempur

Nestled near Taman Sempur Bogor, Jiwan offers more than just food and drinks—it’s a place to settle in, connect, and enjoy multiple vibes in one spot. I stopped by on a weekend to meet some friends and discuss our business plans, arriving earlier than the others. Surprisingly, I didn’t mind waiting; I was happily distracted by the cozy ambiance and good food.

The building itself is eye-catching, blending Art Deco influences with tropical, Indonesian flair. Jiwan spans three floors: the first is the main café space, the second houses a prayer room and meeting area, and while I didn’t make it to the third, there’s also a charming pool (though I’m unsure if it’s for swimming). Indoors, the setting is warm and welcoming with wooden furniture and golden lighting. There’s also a semi-outdoor area right by the entrance that reminded me of a colonial guest house, and a poolside section that’s perfect for soaking up the mood.

I arrived around 1 PM, greeted by a playlist of Indonesian pop songs that kept the atmosphere upbeat without being too loud. Later in the evening, Jiwan brings in live music, adding another layer of charm. Seating is clearly sectioned between smoking and non-smoking, which makes the space feel organized without feeling closed off.

While waiting, I ordered their Nasi Goreng Jiwan, a Power Berries smoothie, and a Salted Caramel Latte—all satisfying, especially the smoothie which hit just right on a warm day. Later, my friends and I shared a generously sized snack platter, and I refueled with their Coffee Lemonade, a refreshing espresso and citrus combo that kept me awake all the way back to Jakarta. We didn’t check the WiFi speeds, but none of us had issues during our quick work session.
